Looking to Lose Weight? Five Top Exercises to Help Shed Unwanted Pounds
An intensive diet might be a way to quickly shift some of your excess weight, but you might find it difficult to keep it off once you return to a normal pattern of eating. Why not consider creating an exercise schedule instead? Turning your unwanted fat into muscle will help you to speedily shed the rest of your excess weight, while improving your overall fitness and health.
Although any form of exercise that raises your heart rate will be beneficial to you in your weight loss journey, the following five forms are specifically suited to the goal of losing weight.
- Swimming. In the water antics are an excellent way to burn off some calories, without putting a lot of strain on your body. A couple of lengths of your local pool a few times a week will have a wondrous effect.
- Walking. Believe it or not, one of the best exercises to help you lose weight is simply walking, especially on an incline. If you have access to a treadmill, set the incline to 15 degrees and walk at a brisk speed for half an hour. Alternatively, just try to incorporate more walking into your every day routine; perhaps you could walk to work or to the shops instead of driving.
- Aerobics classes. If you have a free evening once a week, why not sign up to an aerobics class? A qualified instructor will guide you through the exercises, and beginner level classes won’t leave you feeling unfit and uncoordinated if you don’t have much experience. As a means to raising your heart rate though, few other exercises will have the same effect.
- Jumping. Bouncing on a mini trampoline for 20 minutes a day is a fun way to incorporate some weight loss into your routine. If you don’t have a trampoline, don’t worry, because jumping jacks can be just as beneficial in burning away the calories.
- Cycling. Why not get some exercise out and about? Cycling burns a lot of calories and can be very enjoyable on a beautiful day. Cycling machines are also beneficial, and can be incorporated into more intense Spinning classes in which endurance cycling is practiced to some high tempo music and encouragement from an instructor.
The five exercises mentioned here will certainly help you to lose weight quickly once you start to incorporate them into your regular routine. To stop you becoming bored of one particular exercise why not vary things up a bit? Go for a swim one day and a bike ride the next, for example.
In the end only you will be able to decide what works best for you in terms of getting a regular dose of exercise. Evening classes might help to motivate you more than exercising alone, or a bike ride in the countryside could be your perfect activity. Try out a range of these suggestions, and don’t be afraid to incorporate your own, such as a favourite sporting activity. Before long you will find that stepping onto the scales is a much less daunting prospect!
